Protect the preborn

Equal protection for every child in Alabama.

Alabama law already defines an unborn child as a person. Yet abortion is still legal here through loopholes. Christians across the state are calling on lawmakers to pass the Equal Protection Act, without exception.

The loophole

Abortion isn't illegal in Alabama. Not yet.

01

The law calls the preborn child a person.

Alabama Code §13A-6-1 defines a person as "a human being, including an unborn child in utero at any stage of development, regardless of viability."

02

But abortion is still carved out.

Alabama's homicide laws still make an exception for abortion, and abortion pills ordered by mail are ending preborn lives here.

03

Equal protection closes the gap.

The Equal Protection Act would protect preborn children under the same homicide laws that protect every other person in Alabama.
